We are recruiting for a new researcher! This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person, keen to address these important issues as part of our small team based in Central London.
The job will involve carrying out desk-based research, attending events and conferences, campaigning alongside activists, trade unions and other think tanks to achieve policy change and promoting our work through the media.
Main responsibilities:
- Work with Directors to identify interesting research projects
- Carrying out research based on sources including company annual reports, government documents, academic research and media articles
- Writing reports, briefings for policymakers and blogs and media articles
- Developing contacts across think tanks, NGOs, trade unions, politics and business
Person specification:
- Most importantly, interest in topics covered by HPC’s work, such as fair pay, economic inequality and corporate power
- Good research and writing skills
- Interest in and understanding of policy influencing and policy making processes
- High level of numeracy, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Interest in and understanding of media and social media
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills – time management and ability to prioritise
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative
Salary
- £28,000 plus pension contribution
