HPC Executive Director Luke Hildyard spoke to BBC following the release of our new report – ‘A Charter for Fair Pay’
Following the release of the High Pay Centre’s report A Charter for Fair Pay, HPC Executive Director Luke Hildyard appeared on BBC News discussing the government’s proposals for reducing economic inactivity.
Luke argued that people won’t develop the sense of workplace wellbeing that is crucial to sustaining employment without robust employment rights and a feeling of control over their own working lives.
Therefore, effective implemenation of the Employment Rights Bill and genuine worker voice in corporate governance structures are important to re-engaging the economically inactive, alongside other measures the government is proposing including reform of job centres.
