We’re looking for new members to join our board!
The High Pay Centre (HPC) is an independent think tank that has, for 15 years, been at the forefront of research and debate on executive pay, corporate governance, and pay inequality. Our work regularly features in national media, and we are go-to experts for policymakers, investors, and journalists on responsible business and top pay.
We are seeking new board members to join as soon as possible to help guide HPC through a critical period. With funding challenges threatening our work in the coming year, we are looking for board members who can bring expertise and ideas to strengthen fundraising and supporter development. This is our most urgent priority: advice, guidance, or networks for securing grants, major donors, and small-donor fundraising could make a real difference to HPC’s survival.
Other skills and experience valued:
• Advocacy and campaigning – experience influencing policymakers, regulators, or investors.
• Digital communications – knowledge, expertise, or ideas to help HPC reach wider audiences effectively.
• Governance of NGOs or think tanks – experience overseeing organisations like HPC, alongside knowledge or research skills in our areas of focus.
Why join HPC
• Play a pivotal role in securing the future of a leading UK think tank on pay and inequality.
• Work with a highly experienced board with expertise across responsible investment, corporate governance, employment rights, HR, and social policy.
• Gain valuable board experience at an organisation with national profile and influence.
• Make a tangible impact on the UK debate around executive pay, responsible business, and inequality.
Time Commitment
Board meetings are held every two months. This is a voluntary role: while members are not expected to deliver day-to-day work, strategic input, advice, and support—particularly around fundraising—is highly valued.
Diversity
We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and particularly encourage applications from ethnic minority candidates, as we seek to build a board diverse in both skills and experience.
