We are delighted that the Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable MP, new leader of the Liberal Democrats and former secretary of state for business, will give our second Gavron Memorial Lecture on Monday 27th November 2017.
This year’s lecture will be held again, as last year, at the Institute of Directors, 116 Pall Mall, London SW1Y 5ED
Bob (Lord) Gavron was a great supporter of the High Pay Centre, and a forceful advocate for corporate governance reform. It is fitting that Sir Vince should give this talk in the wake of the announcement of further government reforms, which in turn build on the work Sir Vince carried out in cabinet.
Sir Vince famously alerted us to the unsustainable credit boom in 2005/6, a subject he has written on in his books “The Storm” and its sequel, “After the Storm”. We look forward to hearing from one of the most perceptive and incisive speakers in politics and business today.
The event will start at 6.30pm with drinks, followed by Sir Vince’s lecture and an opportunity to ask questions. There will then be further refreshments available and the formal proceedings will end at 8.30pm.
